PARTIES & GROUPS

We are so excited you want to celebrate with us!
The following information will help you plan your party in the bar.

  • We do not accept reservations.

  • We provide walk up service. Place your order at the bar with a bartender.

  • The bar is busy on weekends between 7:30-11pm.

  • All guests must be 21 years or older.

  • We recommend visiting with 8 guests or fewer on weekends during busy times.

  • Our largest seating areas fit 6-8 guests.

  • All guests must order something from the bar. We have a robust NA menu if guests do not drink alcohol.

  • We appreciate you opening a single tab for larger groups.

  • Groups of 11 or more guests, please contact us in advance. We may turn away large groups if we are not able to accommodate space during busy times.

  • We do host events on occasion including music which may require a cover charge. Check our social media for any upcoming events to make sure they do not conflict with your party.

Up to 10 Guests

You are welcome to join us with a small group! Come on in! Depending on the day and how busy we are, you may experience a wait for seating. We do not allow moving large furniture. On warm nights, we have an amazing back patio with lots of seating. We encourage you to visit during week nights if you want a more intimate experience.

SMALL GROUPS

11 to 18 Guests

Please contact us in advance to approve your party. We may not be able to accommodate large parties on weekends during peek service hours. If you do not want to book a private event, we encourage you to plan your visit between 5pm-7:30pm or after 11:00 pm on weekends, or anytime on weekdays. This assures that we can provide you and other guests with great service.

LARGE GROUPS

18 or More Guests

Take over our bar and let us cater to the needs of you and your guests. Our bar is stocked with a wide selection of specially beverages curated to heighten the enjoyment of any celebration. With bartenders experienced in the artistry of craft cocktail and knowledge of metaphysical practices, hosting your event at The Black Salt is sure to conjure a memorable experience.

Monday or Tuesday Events
We open the bar just for you! It is easy for us to accommodate any date or time you may choose. Prices vary based on the number of guests and length of the event. The minimum cost is $800 plus 20% gratuity.

Early Hour Events
We open the bar early just for you! Host your event 2 to 3 hours before opening time Wednesday through Sunday. Prices vary based on the number of guests, day of the week, and length of the event. The minimum cost is $800 plus 20% gratuity.

Bar Buyout
We close the bar just for you! Host your event any day we are open for your private event. The bar remains closed to the public while we focus on providing you and your guests with an amazing atmosphere for celebrating. We are able to accommodate up to 65 guests at once in our space. Prices vary based on the day of the week.

PRIVATE EVENTS

Event Policies

  • The Black Salt asks that all members of any party consider their health and the health of those around them. Please do not come to an event at our business if you are not feeling well, regardless of type of illness. To protect the health of our Staff and other customers, we reserve the right to deny service to any person(s) or party that endangers themselves or those around them due to health issues. Cancellations for the entire party will be determined on a case by case basis and require at least 72 hours notice.

  • A courtesy hold can be placed on your desired date for 48 hours. To reserve a date, a contract must be signed and full payment must be received. The cancellation deadline, which is generally 2 weeks prior to the event date, will be clearly stated on the contract.

    30% of the total payment of the event is non-refundable. If an event needs to be rescheduled, the deposit may be applied towards a future event, within 6 months of original booking, as long as the request to reschedule is submitted prior to the cancellation deadline. There may only be one date change for the event.

    The reservation must be canceled by the cancellation deadline to avoid incurring any additional charges. Reservation cancellations made after the cancellation deadline will result in a charge of 50% of the reservation cost. If the event is canceled within 72 hours of the event, the cost is non-refundable. The credit card provided will be credited at the time of cancellation.

    All menu prices are subject to change without notice. All prices for specific requests (custom cocktails, spells, etc.) quoted on signed contracts with deposits placed, will be honored.

    Please keep in mind that The Black Salt is a small business. We are very excited to offer our space and service to manifest a wonderful events, however, in doing so, we are committing to your event. This means we block off your event time from providing regular bar service. Therefore, we cannot risk losing regular revenue and must be strict on our cancelation policy.

  • You are welcome to have your party catered by an outside vendor. We do not have a kitchen and are not able to provide a holding space for food prior to the event.

    Pick-up and drop-off of all outside food must be coordinated by the party host and must happen within the event time frame. If the vendor is not able to provide flatware, The Black Salt can provide paper plates and plastic utensils for an additional fee.

    There is an additional $50 cleaning fee for catered events.

    Please confirm the details of your catering vendor with us prior to the event.

  • We do permit cakes in the bar on any day, regardless if you book an event. We do not cut cakes nor do we have plates or silverware. Cupcakes are the easiest way to enjoy sweets in the bar with your party.

  • We want you to have just the right ambiance for your event! DJ’s and live musicians may be brought in only for the rental of the entire bar for a closed private event.

    If you choose to book a DJ, they must bring their own equipment. Please have your DJ contact The Black Salt for additional information.

    The Black Salt cannot provide sound equipment for live music (bands, etc.) All sound equipment must be approved by The Black Salt.

    The Black Salt reserves the right to determine the suitability of the performers and to adjust volume levels as necessary during the event so to adhere to City Regulations regarding Noise. The location of the performer setup will be determined by the bar prior to the event.

    If you do not choose to book a music act for your event, you may play any music you like through our sound system. Please contact us for more information to set up your music preferences prior to the event.

  • The Black Salt is not handicap accessible. Unfortunately, the building is over 100 years old and is not designed to be wheelchair accessible. Please speak to the event coordinator at The Black Salt for further information.

  • The Black Salt is located across the street from a city parking lot that is free. In addition, there is a large parking lot at the South West corner of Holbrook and Joseph Campau, which is half a block from The Black Salt. Street parking is limited but also available in front of the bar.

  • The Black Salt offers the use of our projector and screen for any private event. Please ask us for additional information.

  • The Black Salt is a historic building. We ask that you please adhere to the following guidelines if you choose to bring in additional decorations.

    • No posters, signs or decorations may be affixed to any wall or door.

    • Scotch tape, push pins, nails and other affixtures of this nature are not permitted.

    • Confetti and glitter are STRICTLY PROHIBITED.

    • Throwing rice and/or birdseed is not permitted.

    • Bubbles are not permitted.

    • Ice sculptures are not permitted.

    • Flower arrangements or petals used for decoration must be approved and removed at the conclusion of your event.
